Birdwatching Tour by Boat - 10h

7:30 - 8:00 - Arrival and Preparation

  • Location: Boarding point.

  • Arrival, boarding the boat and preparing equipment (binoculars, cameras, notebook).

  • Briefing about the day: How birdwatching works on the boat and the species that can be seen.

8:00 - 9:30 - Initial Navigation and Birdwatching

  • Location: Navigation on the waters of the Guadiana

  • Observation of water birds.

  • Tips on how to identify birds as the boat slowly sails along the banks.

9:30 - 10:00 - Coffee break

  • Location: Safe anchoring area.

  • Short break for a snack, while watching the birds in the distance.

  • On board, the guide shares interesting facts about the species observed so far.

10:00 - 12:00 - Navigation through Vegetation Areas

  • Location: Areas of dense vegetation or forest areas near water.

  • The guide explains the behaviors of these birds and how they interact with the surrounding environment.

12:00 - 14:00 - Lunch in Alcoutim

  • Location: Quiet area, with good visibility for bird watching.

  • Light lunch on board, enjoying the natural surroundings to rest.

  • During lunch, the group can watch birds fishing or searching for food on the banks.

15:30 - 16:00 - Coffee or Snack Break

  • Location: In a quiet area of the river or lake.

  • Break for a snack and more observation while the boat remains anchored.

  • The guide can give tips on observation techniques and identification of species from a distance.

16:00 - 17:30 - Navigation through the marshland area and observation of nocturnal birds (if possible)

  • Location: Marshes or areas of dense vegetation.

  • If the itinerary includes an extension for nocturnal birdwatching, we can look for owls or birds that start to become active as the day progresses.

  • If not, continue sailing and watch for birds such as ospreys or other species of prey that can be seen as the sun begins to set.

17:30 - 18:00 - Return to Boarding Point and Final Discussion

  • Location: Original boarding point.

  • Return to the tour starting point, where the group can discuss the day's observations and share photos and notes.

  • The guide can provide educational material, such as local bird guides and tips for future birding.
