Olive Harvesting

Olive harvesting is a tradition deeply rooted in Portuguese culture, especially in the Ribatejo and Alentejo regions. During this period, which occurs between October and January, families and communities gather in the olive groves to harvest the fruits that will produce olive oil, an essential ingredient in Portuguese cuisine.

Lecture

In our talk about olives, we will explore their history and cultural importance, demonstrate traditional harvesting techniques, present the process of transforming olives into olive oil, conduct a tasting of different olive oils to enhance the palate, and promote interactive activities that involve participants in practical learning about the olive oil cycle.
